Costume Ideas
Or, "Cribbing shamelessly from Girl Genius"...

So, the most recent comic of Girl Genius portrays the most incredibly awesome costume I think I've ever seen for Agatha Heterodyne. It's so damn tempting to just do an Agatha Heterodyne costume... if only I were blonde! (that is the ONLY time in my life I have ever said that.) I'm thinking there must be some way of modifying it for my zeppelin costume. I know our colors are likely to be a more martial black and silver, would that be sufficient or do we need more alterations?

Another problem with it is that effort required looks to be intense... I would have to start ASAP.

Hell, I say go for it. Why worry about color, after all? We're a privateer airship, not part of the Luftwaffe, after all. Who says we all need to match.

That said, it would be relatively easy to make a few adaptations to mesh with the color scheme that we've talked about. Off the top of my head, I can see that you could easily swap the gloves and boots for black ones, which might have the added benefit of being easier to find/buy. (Run on sentence, anyone?)

Also, as an info note: So far, my costume consists of a black/silver corset, tan riding pants, black boots, brown leather helmet, black goggles and a jacket. Oh, and a white silk aviator scarf. So...yeah. Colors.

All I have in mind so far: Black breeches or black fitted trousers with tailored pockets and pegged cuffs. Suspenders over a grey vest. No shirt. Big black stomper boots. Monocle. Trying to source an old fashioned greatcoat with epaulets. Pair of obviously aviation like glasses (as in binoculars). Tubular chart case, slung, in brown leather (holds a tall skinny bottle of port, grin).

Ideas on this? I am not insistent on the black and silver thing, except that it generates uniformity, which suggests a crew relationship.

After all, our former Prussian zepp commander has his little ways, no? Just wait for the locker inspection!
